4 Days!

While Larry heads to Dover to watch the race with Cathy, I have reaccessed the Packing.

Supposedly you can hand carry your luggage off versus waiting in a location before going to pick it up. So because of this I have been trying to keep things simple and easy in case we may want to try that option...I thought I had it to two cases and a carryon but Larry has added a couple more things here and there...

So as of Today, we have three cases to check and two small bags to carryon...
But...we still have four more days so thins can change...again!

5 Days & counting!

5 Days, 9 Hours....2 1/2 more work days until we sail!!!

This is the time I love and the time I hate!  Excitement builds!   But now comes the dreaded...Deciding on what gets packed.  For the last couple of weeks I've been adding thing to what I call the "staging" area....clothes, accessories, gadgets, electronics, whatever I think I many need for the trip.  This "staging" area tends to take over my living room.  (You don't even want to know this mess!)

Once again I realize I have way too much stuff...so then I think about what I "may" not need...which is usually half of the pile!   But then the "what-ifs" start...what if it's cold, what if it's raining, what if we have unexpected hot weather? (That happened during a trip to Ireland!).  The pile builds.  Ugg!

But, on a happier note... I have actually downsized on electronics...I will only take one camera..and an extra lens...and my computer is my iPad...(though I am pondering about taking my notebook...but just pondering).

This morning "Big Barney" our purple suitcase has been brought down and items have been placed inside...just need some more items and we can zip up!

I'll wait until the day before to close up the garment case...til then the clothes will be hanging around a bit longer!

I think its time for coffee!!

25 Days & Counting!

The excitement grows by the minute!

I've books excursions for three of the four ports.  Portland, ME will show us lighthouses, Bar Harbor will show us how they catch lobsters and then a tour of Cadillac Mountain in Arcadia National Park....I've decided to "wing-it" when in Saint John, NB but do plan to visit he Reversing Tides...

At our last Port of Call, we will visit Peggy's Cove near Halifax, Nova Scotia.  If time permits, and I don't get lost, we may add a trip to the Maritime Museum and see the Titanic exhibit.

The last couple of days I've been reading reviews on Cruise Critic and looking at Google Earth to get a lay of the land...I definitely want to get a couple of lobster rolls.

I think this weekend I will start to gather things together and see what makes the cut and what can be put aside for another trip. The one thing about never visiting someplace is that I haven't a clue as to what I may need....so I have to pack it all!!  Maybe this trip will be different!!

Wish me luck!
